FREMONT, Calif. — Nationwide Boiler Inc.’s sales, storage, and maintenance facility in Alvin, Texas, has earned the National Board “R” Certificate of Authorization.
The designation allows Nationwide’s Texas shop to perform boiler and pressure-vessel repairs and alterations both in the shop and in the field, as specified by the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC). Nationwide Boiler also maintains the so-called R-Stamp certification at its shop headquarters in Fremont, California.
The “R” Certificate of Authorization means the company adheres to the standards set forth by the National Board to guarantee quality, reliability, and safety, Nationwide said in a press release. The certification process involved a thorough review and rigorous evaluation of Nationwide Boiler’s welding procedure by a review team from the National Board.
Nationwide’s certifying engineer, Jay Mills, showcased his knowledge of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Section VIII alteration calculations on a deaerator tank, while the welding supervisor, Aaron Smith, demonstrated the successful procedure with a full penetration weld. Additionally, Nationwide’s Katelyn LeJeune assumed the role of quality control manager and demonstrated the steps involved in purchasing and receiving code materials, as specified by ASME Code Section II. This comprehensive assessment ensures that the company’s procedures, practices, and staff qualifications meet the stringent requirements necessary for the “R” Certificate of Authorization, the company said.
“We are extremely proud to have earned the R-Stamp certification for our Alvin, Texas facility,” said Larry Day, Nationwide’s president and CEO. “This achievement was a true team effort, and our group in Alvin continues to impress with quality workmanship and exceptional results. The achievement of the R-Stamp provides confidence for our customers in the integrity and reliability of repairs and alterations, knowing that the work we do meets the highest industry standards.”
