Shurtape Implements Design Updates to DC 181 Film Tape

Shurtape Technologies has modified the design on its HVAC tape in response to field feedback that inspectors look for “red-letter tape” when performing HVAC inspections. Shurtape DC 181 will now feature red lettering on silver (metallic) film tape, replacing the existing silver (metallic) tape with black lettering design.

The film tape is for use on Class 1 Flex Duct for connecting, joining, sealing and patching flexible air ductwork in a residential, commercial or industrial setting. The tape features an acrylic adhesive system, provides high performance in temperatures ranging from minus 10 F to 210 F and is clearly printed with the UL Listing that building codes require. In addition to the red letters providing a quick and easy way for HVAC inspectors to visually confirm jobs are code compliant, the updated look will match the red print of other UL Certified Tapes within the company’s HVAC portfolio.
