Malco Tools Selected to Represent Minnesota Manufacturing at First Nail Ceremony

Malco Tools, a leading manufacturer of high-quality tools for the HVAC and building construction industries, has been chosen to represent Minnesota’s manufacturing sector at the Inaugural First Nail Ceremony for the 2025 presidential inauguration.

The First Nail Ceremony, which takes place annually, marks the beginning of construction on the inaugural platform for the incoming president and vice president. During the event, members of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies will hammer nails into a symbolic piece of wood using a Malco Claw Hammer.

Malco was selected for this honor by Minnesota State Senator Amy Klobuchar, chair of this year’s joint committee.

“We are honored to be part of this historical event,” said Malco President and CEO Rich Benninghoff. “The use of the Malco Claw Hammer as a way to represent the strength of manufacturing in Minnesota is a source of great pride for our company and our team members.”

Based in Annandale, Minnesota, Malco employs over 160 people and represents the state’s thriving manufacturing industry. The company, founded in 1950, is 100% employee-owned and has received numerous awards for its excellence in manufacturing and as a top workplace.

The First Nail Ceremony will take place on September 18 at 10:30 a.m. CST and will be broadcast on the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies website.
