Tom Grunstra Appointed Director of Program Development at the ESCO Institute

MOUNT PROSPECT, Illinois The ESCO Institute announced the addition of Tom Grunstra to its executive team as director of program development.

With over 40 years of HVACR industry experience, Grunstra has honed his expertise across contractor, wholesaler, and manufacturer roles. Most recently, he served as director of training at Fujitsu General America Inc., where he led a team in creating impactful content and instructional materials tailored for HVACR professionals.

In his new role, Grunstra will oversee the creation and management of innovative educational resources and training products, ensuring alignment with industry standards and the integration of emerging technologies. Working closely with regulatory agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Education, and Department of Energy, as well as leading manufacturers and stakeholders, Grunstra will identify industry needs, craft effective solutions, and further ESCO’s mission to deliver premier training and certification programs.

His leadership will also extend to the Program Development team’s educational outreach initiatives, which provide manufacturers with avenues to influence training content. These initiatives aim to equip both current and future HVACR professionals with the skills essential for career success in a rapidly evolving industry.

“Thomas’s vast experience in training and development, coupled with his deep industry knowledge, makes him an invaluable asset to our team,” said Renee Tomlinson, executive director of the ESCO Institute. “His dedication to advancing educational programs and integrating emerging technologies underscores why we’re thrilled to have him on board. We are confident his leadership will significantly impact our organization and the HVACR community.”
