Daikin Advances to Final Stage in DOE Residential Cold Climate Heat Pump Challenge

Daikin Comfort Technologies North America has advanced to the final stage of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Residential Cold Climate Heat Pump Technology Challenge. This milestone follows the successful completion of multiple field tests.

Launched in 2021, the challenge aims to foster collaboration among manufacturers, utilities and other stakeholders to develop next-generation heat pump technology capable of delivering reliable and energy-efficient heating in extreme winter conditions.

“Daikin is thrilled to continue to the final phase of the DOE’s Residential Cold Climate Heat Pump Challenge. Our collaboration with the DOE underscores our mission to accelerate decarbonization goals across the U.S. and Canada with innovative, energy-efficient inverter heat pump technology,” said Takayuki Inoue, executive vice president and chief sales and marketing officer for Daikin. “This challenge plays a critical role in raising public awareness that will drive the adoption of advanced heating solutions; we are eager to see the positive impacts unfold in the years to come.”
