ATLANTA — ASHRAE installed its 2025–2026 president, along with newly elected officers and directors, during its recent 2025 annual conference in Phoenix, Arizona.
Bill McQuade, P.E., will serve as the 2025-2026 society president. In his inaugural presidential address, McQuade introduced the theme for the 2025-2026 year, “Healthy Buildings: Designing For Life.” The theme emphasizes the critical role of indoor environmental quality (IEQ) in reducing environmental impacts to the built environment while supporting healthier, more resilient communities, a press release from ASHRAE said.
“Today, shelter is more than just a roof over one’s head,” said McQuade. “Shelter encompasses the hospitals we are born in, the homes where we find comfort, the schools where we learn, and the buildings we work in. A well-designed shelter prioritizes indoor environmental quality, ensuring good air quality, proper lighting, thermal comfort, acoustics, and access to safe water, all essential for health and comfort. Providing safe, stable, and sustainable shelter is not just a basic human need, it is a fundamental pillar of societal advancement and long-term development.”
McQuade is vice president for government affairs and global sustainability at Baltimore Aircoil Co. Inc. in Jessup, Maryland.
Sarah E. Maston, P.E., was named to a one-year term as ASHRAE’s president-elect. Maston is the director of commissioning and energy services at Colliers Project Leaders in Hudson, Massachusetts. Ashish Rakheja, director and COO at AEON in Uttar Pradesh, India, was named to a one-year term as treasurer.
ASHRAE also introduced two new vice presidents, who will serve terms of two years: Trenton S. Hunt, vice president and general manager for mechanical products at NSW, Midvale, Utah, and Andres J. Sepulveda, CEO at Commtech, Madrid, Spain.
ASHRAE also introduced six new directors/regional chairs, who will serve three-year terms, and three new directors-at-large.
