Industry Veteran Keith Wentworth Honored with Hall of Fame Induction

The metal building industry is recognizing one of its own with the induction of Keith Wentworth into the 2024 Metal Construction Hall of Fame. Wentworth, currently serving as president of Dutton & Garfield, Inc. and president of the Metal Buildings Institute (MBI), is being honored for his decades of contributions to the industry.

Wentworth’s dedication to advancing the metal building sector is evident in his lengthy list of achievements. During his tenure as MBCEA president, he focused on raising awareness of construction careers and oversaw remarkable membership growth, reaching the 500-member milestone. He played a crucial role in developing and promoting the AC478 accreditation, setting a standard for metal building erectors. His efforts also led to the creation of the Temporary Bracing Guidelines, a vital resource for safe metal building assembly.

Wentworth’s commitment to workforce development continues in his current role as MBI President and co-chair of the MBCEA Education and Training Committee. Alongside Jen Heimburger, MBCEA past-president, he is spearheading the development of a Metal Building Systems Assembly Curriculum.

“Keith’s contributions to the industry are both numerous and invaluable,” said Robert Tiffin, MBCEA President. “His work makes my job that much easier.”

Wentworth’s recognition is well-deserved, according to Sasha Demyan, MBCEA Executive Director. “His efforts over the years with both the MBCEA and MBI have helped move our industry forward in many ways,” Demyan said.

With over 25 years of experience in commercial and industrial metal building design/build construction, Wentworth is a third-generation Butler builder. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Merrimack College and is a licensed Massachusetts Construction Supervisor. His industry involvement is extensive, having served on Butler’s advisory council, as past President of the MBCEA New England Chapter and National Board, and as a member of the MBCEA Pioneers Club.
