Marketair Introduces AC SpeedStick, HVAC’s First WiFi-Based Ductless A/C System Float Switch

Marketair Inc., a supplier of HVACR components and accessories, introduced the AC SpeedStick, a float switch for safeguarding against property damage caused by condensate overflow in mini-split/ductless air handlers.

The AC SpeedStick WS-100 is also the industry’s first electronic float switch offering (optional) Wi-Fi-based Internet interconnectivity. The AC SpeedStick senses a condensate drain line blockage and shuts down the system, then (if Wi-Fi is integrated and available) sends a text or email notification to the HVAC service company’s cellphone and/or email dispatch for immediate attention.

The patent-pending AC SpeedStick’s optional 24/7 Wi-Fi texting capability gives the installing HVAC company an exclusive alert before competing companies can be called.

The AC SpeedStick, which is UL-listed and compliant with the International Mechanical Code, features a simplified installation. The electronic water sensing probe is a fast push-fit into the evaporator coil’s secondary drain pan outlet, unlike other shutoff switches that require disassembly of the casing for drain pan access. The ribbed, conically shaped probe’s soft rubber construction provides a tight, leak-proof fit. The probe’s universal color-coded wiring is preconnected to the compact 3-3/8 (L) x 2 (W) x 1-1/2 (D)-inches (85 x 51 x 38-mm) control module. The module fits inside most ductless air handlers with an integrated hanging clip and/or double-sided mounting tape, but can also be installed on the cabinet exterior. The module includes communication, ground, and power wiring for interrupting the current from the condenser.

Other AC SpeedStick features include:

  • A control module displays a green/red LED and an optional blue LED for operational status and WiFi connectivity, respectively;
  • Automatic reset after drain pan condensate levels recede;
  • A 10-second delay to safeguard against false alarms;
  • Video instruction for installing the cellphone app and float switch is online at www.acspeedstick.com;
  • 4-foot-long (122-cm) wiring harness accommodates large evaporator coils;
  • Includes two QR Code decals to facilitate future service;
  • 2-year warranty;
  • Fits most ductless 120V/240V air handlers.

The AC SpeedStick begins shipping in fourth quarter of 2025.
