Midea Becomes First Manufacturer to Achieve AHRI’s CVP Certification

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — Midea announced it has become the first manufacturer to achieve certification under the new Controls Verification Procedure (CVP) developed by the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI).

CVP represents an advancement in energy testing methodology, designed to reflect real-world performance conditions. Unlike the a “locked unit” test mode, CVP uses an “unlocked” configuration that simulates true end-user conditions, maintaining the same compressor, airflow, and TXV position while operating under its own controls.

This builds on Midea’s receipt of the first-ever Intertek certification for CVP compliance, which was announced earlier this year at AHR Expo 2025.

Together, these achievements demonstrate that Midea’s high-efficiency performance and energy savings are not just laboratory results; they reflect how Midea systems perform in real homes and businesses.

In Midea’s recent Alaska Discovery Project, the company’s latest Cold Climate Heat Pump (CCHP) maintained 100% heating capacity at -40°F, showcasing the system’s reliability in extreme conditions.
