Review Period Open for ACCA Maintenance Standard

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) Educational Institute standards task team has opened an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) public review period for reaffirmation of ACCA 4 QM – 2019, “Maintenance of Residential HVAC Systems.”

The 45-day ANSI public review period started June 21, and the comment deadline is Monday, August 5. The standard is proposed to be reaffirmed with no changes, in accordance with ANSI’s five-year essential requirements.

A public review form for comments with a link to the above standard has been posted at the following link: ANSI Public Review Form – 4 QM – ACCA.

This standard provides a nationally recognized, manufacturer-endorsed set of minimum tasks that should be performed for HVACR equipment maintenance inspections. From this list, consumers can compare the value of the additional recommended corrective actions that may be needed to remedy identified faults. For contractors, the standard provides a common platform for creating a maintenance program while allowing for the bundling of different recommended corrective actions.
