Rheem Endeavor Dual Fuel System Provides Year-Round Efficiency

Rheem introduced the Endeavor Line Classic Plus Series iR Residential Packaged Dual Fuel Units (RDFXYC), expanding its residential product line with a system designed to deliver reliable comfort, energy efficiency, and simplified serviceability.

The RDFXYC combines an electric heat pump and a gas furnace in one unit, automatically switching between heating sources based on outdoor temperature. This dual operation ensures consistent performance in both warm and cold conditions while optimizing energy use.

The system is available in 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-ton models, and supports both single- and three-phase configurations. It delivers up to 15.2 SEER2 cooling efficiency and 7.2 HSPF2 heating efficiency, with an AFUE rating of 81% for the gas furnace mode. Homeowners can set a preferred temperature threshold, enabling the system to automatically transition between heat pump and gas heat as conditions change.

The 2-ton model operates as a two-stage northern heat pump, providing up to 40% more heating capacity than a standard unit and producing air temperatures averaging five degrees warmer than typical single- or two-stage heat pumps.

Smart and Connected Features:

• EcoNet compatibility gives homeowners remote access to temperature management through connected devices;

• Bluetooth connectivity allows contractors to configure, service, and diagnose systems without removing service panels, reducing setup and maintenance time; and

• Compatible with standard 24V thermostats and major smart home platforms for flexible control options.

A constant volume motor maintains quieter sound levels for residential comfort. The compact cabinet features a shorter height for easier rooftop or ground-level installation and dedicated service compartments with a slide-out blower section for improved accessibility.
