De Pere, WI – July 8, 2024 – Tweet/Garot Mechanical is excited to invite media representatives to a graduation program for the inaugural class of Heavy Metal Summer Experience campers. The event will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024, from 3:00 to 4:30 PM at our Corporate Office located at 325 Reid Street, De Pere, WI 54115.
This 30-hour camp, spread over 12 dates throughout June and July 2024, is a free program designed to introduce high school students and recent graduates to union job opportunities in the fields of mechanical, sheet metal, and electrical construction. The camp offers students hands-on learning experiences through various projects and by working alongside seasoned craft professionals.
As part of the camp experience, participants tour the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 18 and Plumbers & Steamfitters UA Local 400 training facilities. These tours provide an invaluable glimpse into local apprenticeship programs, allowing students to see firsthand what it takes to succeed in these high-demand fields.
The graduation ceremony will celebrate the achievements of the students, recognizing their hard work and dedication. Families and friends of the participants are also invited to join in celebrating their accomplishments.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the achievements of our inaugural class of Heavy Metal Summer Experience campers,” said Hope Voigt, Chief Operating Officer for Tweet/Garot Mechanical. “This program is designed to open students’ eyes to the rewarding careers available in the construction trades. We hope to inspire more young people to consider these paths, which offer high pay, job security, and the opportunity to develop skills without the burden of student debt.”
