Wisconsin’s Tweet Garot Expands Into Michigan After Southwest Push, Acquires Traverse City Firm

Tweet Garot Mechanical, a mechanical contracting powerhouse with 127 years in the business, has made another strategic move to grow beyond its Midwest base, acquiring Temperature Control, a respected mechanical service and building automation company in Traverse City, Michigan.

The deal, completed October 31, marks Tweet Garot’s entry into lower Michigan and comes on the heels of the company’s recent permanent expansion into Phoenix, Arizona. In August 2024, Tweet Garot opened an office in Phoenix after delivering several successful mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) projects in the area — part of an ambitious plan to extend its footprint beyond Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.

“We are thrilled to partner with Dan Law and the great team he has built at Temperature Control,” said Hope Voigt, Tweet Garot’s president. “Dan and his team have established a strong reputation in Michigan, and his leadership and technical expertise will be invaluable as we expand our presence there. We’re excited to launch our first lower Michigan operation and look forward to serving customers throughout the state.”

Temperature Control’s Traverse City location will stay open, while founder Dan Law and his son Mike will help with the transition. Patrick Law, Dan’s other son, will take over leadership moving forward.

“I’m excited about what this partnership means for our employees and customers,” Dan Law said. “Tweet Garot’s resources, technology, and commitment to customers align perfectly with our values. I’m confident that Patrick and the team will thrive as part of the Tweet Garot organization.”

The acquisition reflects Tweet Garot’s continuing growth strategy. After recently establishing a Southwest presence, the company — which employs about 800 people and was named SMACNA MEP Innovator of the Year in 2024 — has signaled its intent to build on its reputation and expand throughout Michigan.

“We’re not just acquiring a business—we’re gaining talented people and a strong reputation that will serve as our foundation in lower Michigan,” Voigt said.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
