92 HVAC Techs Among NTI’s Las Vegas Graduates

Students had completed a unique assignment, applying technical skills in a real working environment, by helping remodel NTI’s new campus building and installing mini-split systems in the administrative offices. Electrical students wired conduit and electrical boxes to run power to the campus ice machine and the plumbing lab’s water heaters, completing an installation that now serves the entire campus. The electrical class also recorded some of the highest final exam scores in the Las Vegas program’s history.

“I chose NTI for its high job placement stats and hands-on training that would take years of field experience to obtain. I’m choosing the career of electrician for its inarguably necessary work in this age as well as the consistent work and high pay that enables a more free life and ability to provide for family and community around me,” said Michael Hobbs, who graduated from the electrical program. “The investment in myself at this school will change my life in a meaningful way.”

Seventeen members of the graduating class had secured jobs with regional employers before completing their coursework, reflecting an urgent demand for skilled tradespeople, a press release from NTI said. A 2026 report by Jones Lang LaSalle IP Inc. found that an estimated 2.1 million skilled trades jobs in the U.S. could go unfilled by 2030, leading to potential economic losses that the U.S. Department of Education estimates could be as high as $1 trillion annually. Las Vegas is not immune to that pressure, and NTI’s Career Services Department works directly with local hiring partners to ensure every graduate has a direct path to employment, providing job placement support, resume preparation, and targeted employer outreach throughout the region, the school’s press release said.

“The talent and dedication this class brought every single day gives me complete confidence they are going to make an immediate impact on the Las Vegas community,” said Randy Nichols, director of NTI’s Las Vegas campus. “These men and women are walking into a workforce that needs them, and the skills, work ethic, and professionalism they have built here at NTI make them exactly the kind of tradespeople Nevada communities deserve.”

NTI’s Las Vegas campus serves students across the region with state-of-the-art training labs equipped with professional tools and industry-standard equipment designed to mirror real field conditions. To accommodate students who are currently working, classes run throughout the day and evening, with morning and evening options available on weekdays as well as Saturday classes. NTI offers certification programs, through in-person and hybrid learning, of between 12 and 16 weeks, with new classes starting every month.
