NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — Distributor F.W. Webb Co. recently opened a 143,000 square-foot store and warehouse in Central Islip, New York, and relocated another store and warehouse in suburban New Jersey.
The new facility in Central Islip, which is on Long Island, is designed for buy-and-go purchasing, allowing contractors, technicians, facility managers, and other professionals to call, text, or order via the F.W. Webb mobile app and retrieve their purchases quickly, a press release from the company said.
“This convenient location is built for busy trade professionals, who can order from the jobsite or office, pick up quickly, and return to work,” said Scott Brown, general manager of the Central Islip facility. “We keep a large inventory of products on hand so the skilled trades across Long Island never have to wait for the parts they need.”
Webb is moving some employees from its West Babylon, New York, location to the Central Islip store and warehouse, plus hiring new employees. The West Babylon outlet, meanwhile, will keep its trades counter open as that facility is renovated to expand its fire sprinkler fabrication capabilities.
Roughly 80 miles west, Webb opened a 27,000-square-foot store and warehouse in Whippany, New Jersey, a relocation of its facility in nearby Madison, New Jersey. The new location will support contractors, technicians, facility operators, and other trades professionals with expanded on-site product availability for plumbing, HVACR, industrial, and institutional work, a Webb press release said.
“Our company has made a significant commitment to supplying trade professionals in the New York metropolitan area, and this larger, upgraded facility builds on our efforts to help them work more efficiently and more effectively,” said Bob Mucciarone, the Webb COO.
Webb’s Whippany location will be staffed by employees from the former location in Madison, and the company also plans to hire for some roles.
Webb also plans an update of its location in Centereach, New York; recently opened new locations in Somerdale, New Jersey, and Middlebury, Vermont; and moved its Queensbury, New York, store and warehouse into a larger, updated location.
