Carrier Plans $600 Investment in Texas Manufacturing

Carrier has transformed its commercial HVAC business, leading to record backlog levels and a robust and growing pipeline across many key verticals. Investment in a new, state-of-the-art site demonstrates Carrier’s confidence in its growth in this business and furthers Carrier’s commitment to domestic manufacturing, a company press release said. Carrier is the largest U.S.-headquartered company in the HVACR industry.

“This investment reflects the strong demand we are securing for high-performance, energy-efficient solutions and underscores our confidence in the future of American manufacturing,” said Carrier chairman and CEO David Gitlin. “By expanding our U.S. manufacturing and engineering footprint, we are increasing capacity for critical technologies, strengthening supply chain resilience, and creating high-quality jobs. We are proud to partner with the Fort Worth community and the state of Texas as we invest in the workforce, innovation, and manufacturing capabilities needed to support our customers’ growth for decades to come.”

The investment supports Carrier’s commercial momentum, expanding the company’s U.S. manufacturing capacity for advanced thermal management systems, including air- and water-cooled commercial chillers, and helping customers meet growing demand for intelligent climate and energy solutions across data center, health care, education, and industrial markets and other key verticals, the press release said.

Carrier is expected to begin operations in the facility of more than 1 million square feet next year. Consistent with Carrier’s 2030 Sustainability and Impact Goals, the new Fort Worth center is expected to pursue LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. Fort Worth was selected because of its highly skilled workforce, strong manufacturing base, and strategic location that will support the facility’s long-term growth and success, the company said.

“I’m proud that Fort Worth continues to be one of the top cities in the nation for advanced manufacturing, and this investment by Carrier is just the latest example of the momentum we’re building,” said Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker. “With the creation of 1,500 high-quality jobs, this project will add to Fort Worth’s manufacturing hub at AllianceTexas while strengthening our energy and technology industries for years to come.”

“The Fort Worth momentum continues. This new investment from Carrier is a powerful statement about what’s possible in our city. It demonstrates that Fort Worth is rapidly becoming a center of choice for advanced manufacturing and engineering services — a destination where companies choose to come to invest, expand and grow,” said Robert Allen, president and CEO of the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership.

Carrier plans to partner with local schools and colleges to help prepare the next generation of talent for its industry.
